You posted this on Thursday and then Sunday I participated in a text conversation with my women's group about Arminianism (sp?) and Calvinism....what timing! Some saw Calvinism as inconsistent with God's Goodness-- if some are predestined to heaven, are not then some predestined to hell? But then a pushback-- like what you mentioned-- was: is it not merciful that "God chose to save and adopt a multitude of guilty sinners with nothing about them serving as a condition or cause moving Him to do so?"
