Great article...would love to know what you might think on the cannons of other Christian traditions (The Ethiopian Orthodox Church, the Arminian Orthodox Church, etc).

Hey Zach! I’m not as familiar with the histories of the books they include in their canons, but I suspect the same arguments would apply. Protestants will always hold to the same OT canon as Jesus/the Apostles/the Jews so any additional books (whether in the Roman Catholic canon or the Ethiopian Orthodox Canon, or otherwise) should be excluded on the grounds that the Jews rejected them. As for the New Testament, the discussions and arguments for canonization are different than the OT. Connection to an apostle is the biggest factor to consider with NT canonization. I have several podcast episodes dedicated to canonization on the Without Doubt podcast that you can find on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. I hope this helps!
